The highly anticipated opening of Voodoo Doughnut’s new Denver location has been shrouded in mystery since the day it was announced.
For the past ten years, this delightful delicatessen has been satisfying the sweet tooth of Portland, Ore. Never reaching outside of Oregon until now though, the infamous doughnut shop will be opening up a fourth hot-pink location just a stones throw from the Capitol, at 1520 East Colfax, here in Denver.
When asked about the choice to open a new store in Denver, Voodoo Doughnut owner Tres Shannon says, “We made the right choice.” And it’s no surprise, because this is yet another Oregon based business finding a home here in the Mile High City.
If you’ve heard the rumors and you’ve been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to sink your teeth into one of their world famous Bacon Maple Bars, Voodoo Doughnuts will be having their soft opening this December. (Meaning limited hours and limited doughnuts, oh my!)
If the limited hours and potential for running out of doughnuts makes you nervous, be patient, the grand opening will be in January and it’s expected to be one hell of a party. Come that fateful day in January, we’ll all be able to indulge in a Colfax Cream, or whatever your favorite sweet treat may be — any hour, day or night.
